Teachings of Shivabalayogi

Shivabalayogi’s Teachings

How will we value a comprehensive “How To Manual” directly from prophets such as Jesus, Buddha, Ramana Maharishi or Ramakrishna. Where we could question these enlightened souls and receive the answers directly from them. What would humanity give for such guidance. What would such guidance mean to humanity.

What kind of questions will we ask:

  • How to we obtain salvation?
  • What is the role of meditation in spirituality?
  • How created God?
  • Why does God not show herself or himself?
  • Why does God allow suffering?
  • Why is happiness so elusive?
  • Does Prayer work?
  • What is the nature of reality?
  • Is there such a thing as rebirth?

And countless more. The list is endless, often answer to one question, leads to many more. Such is nature of a spiritual quest. Often one turns to scriptures such as the Bible, Vedas, Upanishads to try to find answers. However, for most of us — these are written for a different age and in a manner which is difficult to internalize.

This is where Laghu Guru Upanishad come in — It is divine knowledge, it is the collective wisdom of Vedanta, as laid out by Sri Shivabalayogi thru Gurprasad (in Bhav Samadhi)  in a manner which is suited for todays times. It answers all the questions mentioned above and many more. It is truly an indispensable guide for a spiritual seeker. It is a map which shows us how to navigate thru modern life and its pitfalls trying to get to the destination of eternal happiness. Happiness that is not transient or dependent on our attachment to material things or other people, rather happiness which comes from deep within us. It truly sets us on the path to discover the eternal truth from the Bible which is that “The Kingdom of Heaven is within us”

In time Laghu Guru Upanishad will claim its rightful place as one of the pre-eminent Upanishads ever written.

What makes Laghu Guru Upanishad exceptional:

  • This is the first Upanishad natively written in English. Not translated but actually written in English in Bhav Samadhi enshrining the teachings of Sri Shivabalayogi. It is written for modern times allowing us to more easily relate to teachings of Vedanta, the ancient philosophy which is the underpinning of most religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Sufisim and more.  If one understands the teachings of Vedanta and Jesus one sees that not only they are not in conflict they at the core are saying the same thing.
  • It is a spiritual guide which in no way conflicts with any religious path one is following. The teachings here by Sri Shivabalayogi do not ask you to give up or redefine your faith. If you go to church or temple, by all means keep doing so. If you believe Jesus Christ to be your savior, that is fine — Jesus is your Ishata Devata (the one you meditate on). This spiritual guide gets you closer to your faith. It does however lay bare the futility of rituals or organized religion unless followed by love and devotion
  • The teachings of Sri Shivabalayogi are simple and straightforward – MEDITATE. Laghu Guru Upanishad explains in great detail as to why we need to meditate. How is meditation related to spirituality. How does meditation accelerate our spiritual progress.
  • This is one spiritual guide where you can actually experience results. There is nothing here which makes you wait till you die. It is here and now. For every one who diligently follows the teachings of Sri Shivabalayogi as laid down in Laghu Guru Upanishad, they see a change in a matter of months not years. The only thing asked of you is to meditate and cultivate qualities of love, devotion, empathy while giving up negative tendencies such as hate, anger, jealously, greed. Meditation is the elixir which makes this happen naturally, without one being even aware of the changes happening within oneself.
  • It is action oriented — while reading the teachings is important the real value lies in practice. Laghu Guru Upanishad shows that spiritual progress is made by doing and not by scholarly or mechanical reading of religious texts, self help or spiritual books. It guides one in how to move from the theoretical pursuit of  spirituality to actually taking action to progress on your path.
  • While there are hundred other reasons I could list here what makes Sri Shivabalayogi’s teachings so exceptional, one key teaching which rises up thru Laghu Guru Upanishad is that Self Realization and God Realization and God Realization is Self Realization. As said in the bible:

“If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.” (Matthew 10:39 MSG)
